The 25HP is a smooth thing to sit behind. Its SOHC in-line two-cylinder block displaces 432 cc on a 65.0 × 65.1 mm bore and stroke at 9.1 : 1 compression, and that combination stays calm and evenly balanced right through the rev range rather than coming alive at one end of it. Across the range dry weight runs 56 kg – 70 kg, which is how it delivers the big-engine feel without the big-engine weight.
Peak output is 18.4 kW at the propeller shaft, geared 2.08 (27/13) so the thrust turns up early rather than only at the top of a 5000 – 6000 r/min full-throttle range; idle drops to 850 – 950 r/min. Simple F-N-R shifting and VTS speed control keep the helm uncomplicated, and Digital Network Gauge compatibility puts speed, efficiency and performance on a screen instead of in your head.
