Plasma-fused sleeveless cylinders keep the block light and the revs rising quickly, while Variable Camshaft Timing shifts valve timing on the move to swell low- and mid-range torque without blunting the top end. Wind it into the 5000 – 6000 r/min band and 183.8 kW arrives all at once.
Lightness is the other half of it. At 264 kg dry the sleeveless block gives performance hulls the lift and handling they were drawn for, and a 1.75 (21/12) gear ratio sends it straight through to the prop. Bore and stroke are dead square at 96.0 × 96.0 mm, compression sits at 10.3:1, and electronic fuel injection with TCI ignition holds a clean spark from a 650 – 750 r/min idle to wide open.
